We have substantial experience in handling complex bankruptcy litigation matters. We have been involved in two of the most significant bankruptcy matters in U.S. history, Lehman Brothers and MF Global. We served as counsel to the Trustee for Lehman Brothers Inc. in a multi-billion dollar dispute with Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., obtaining a global settlement in 2013. In approving that settlement, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York referred to it as a “very creative outcome,” “truly remarkable,” “a comprehensive consensual resolution of one of the most complex matters ever to be resolved in history.” We also served as appellate counsel to the Lehman Trustee in connection with a $5 billion dispute before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In MF Global, we represented the Trustee in litigation involving novel questions of commodities and bankruptcy law.
