Christos G. Papapetrou

Christos G. Papapetrou represents clients across a diverse range of legal areas, including complex civil litigation, white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions, regulatory enforcement proceedings, internal investigations and white collar matters. He has represented individuals and companies in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country. Mr. Papapetrou also has a substantial appellate practice, having authored dozens of appellate briefs in state and federal courts nationwide, including several federal courts of appeal and state supreme courts.

Mr. Papapetrou has handled disputes involving securities fraud, financial and accounting fraud, insider trading, public corruption, cybercrime, trade secrets, securities and consumer class actions, contract disputes and breach of fiduciary duty. He has represented individuals and companies in connection with investigations by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the U.S. Commodities Futures Exchange Commission, as well as various state criminal and regulatory authorities. His practice also encompasses cross-border matters that involve wide-ranging issues implicating the laws and regulations of foreign jurisdictions in addition to the United States. Mr. Papapetrou has represented clients pro bono in civil rights trials and appeals in federal court, including an individual facing the death penalty in Alabama in his federal habeas proceeding.

Mr. Papapetrou clerked for the Hon. Loretta A. Preska of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the Hon. Peter G. Sheridan of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He subsequently worked as an associate at Mayer Brown LLP in the Supreme Court & Appellate and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice groups. He is a graduate of Fordham Law School (cum laude, Editor-in-Chief, Fordham Urban Law Journal) and Boston College (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa), and studied at Mansfield College, Oxford University.
