After more than four years of litigation, Levine Lee secured a non-incarceratory sentence of supervised release with home detention from the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey for our client, Domenic Gatto, Jr. Mr. Gatto was originally charged with Healthcare Fraud and violations of the Anti-Kickback statute. Those charges were dismissed, and Mr. Gatto plead guilty to a single charge of third-party money laundering. In addition, the Court ordered financial penalties of approximately five percent of the $22 million that the Government requested.
We are deeply appreciative of the Court’s thoughtful and just sentence, which recognized that the incarceratory sentence the Government sought was not appropriate in this case. Seth L. Levine, Scott B. Klugman, Julia R. Timerman, and Paul A. Murphy (now of Murphy Legal PLLC) worked on the matter, along with Legal Analysts Olivia Flaherty-Lovy and Natalia Lalin.
